Twistling, or "Twist" was a brindled male Dire Wolf with a flipped front paw. He was once part of the Watch, and was one of the wolves that greeted Faolan and Edme when they arrived at the Watch, along with Winks. He was Faolan's taiga, or teacher.
In the Spirit Wolf earthquake, Twist was killed along with other Watch wolves, in the earthquake. However, he was mended, as the Ember was destroyed.
Description[]
Twist was a brindled wolf with swirling patches of brown and tawny. One of his front paws was flipped backwards. He probably had a black or a brown nose and green eyes like the true wolves of the beyond.

Watch Wolf[]
In Watch Wolf, when Faolan and Edme arrive at the Hot Gates, he and Winks greet Faolan and Edme. They each introduce them to many Watch wolves and give them a tour around the place. They lead the two young wolves to their den. The next day, as Faolan's teacher or taiga, Twistling teaches Faolan the jumps the Watch wolves perform to look for graymalkins.
Spirit Wolf[]
Twist comes to Edme, who is crying; he thinks that she is crying blood at first, but then realizes that the tears were reflecting some lava. Then the earthquake strikes, and Twist is killed.
Death[]
Twistling was killed falling into a crack in the ground during the earthquake in Spirit Wolf.
